Our house is a little over 1300 sq ft to give an idea of area. I only have to empty the debris once for the hard floors and rugs but because I have old carpet in two rooms, I have to empty twice. I vacuum twice a week because I have to dogs. It is very good at getting up all the dog hair and dust from both carpet and wood laminate floors which have a wood grain feel.

I bought this one online because local and box stores have different versions which are not as good.
